There is this moment wherein you can’t stop laughing because your mom has truckloads of clothes, mostly with shoulder pads.
Beware. They’re actually striking revenge.
2008 promises the emergence of a well-structured form of shoulder-padded dresses and tops. Based on the website Fashionising.com, “Futurism and fantasy are the key elements this time around, compared to the 1980′s that categorized shoulder pads as power suits.”
One pitfall of the comeback is that it won’t really work for everyone. It aims to balance out uneven parts of the frame. But basically the key ingredient to carry it on all off is sheer confidence and stylistic angst.

Who’s less sexier than Amy Winehouse, Madonna, Sandra Oh, and Britney Spears? No body would’ve guessed it but Maxim’s poll said it was Sarah Jessica Parker of Sex and the City fame. She was named as “unsexiest woman alive” in a poll sent out by the magazine last October. It even said that she was a “Barbaro-faced borad”-referring to a Kentucky Derby winning horse.
Naturally she and her husband was not happy. “Do I have big fake boobs, Botox and big lips? No,” Sarah said. “Do I fit some ideals and standards of some men writing in a men’s magazine? Maybe not.”
Even her husband was bothered because, “… it has to do with his judgment, too.”

Once you have kids, your mind seems to change overnight. This is what happened to the 41-year-old supermodel, Cindy Crawford. According to her she will never pose naked again so that her two kids won’t get teased about it. She last posed when she was 27 years old.
There comes a time when your priorities change. She says, “I take my job very seriously. Coming from a model that might sound silly. But at this point in my life I’ll only do things that I feel really passionate about. The money I make is nice but it’s not the motivating factor any more.”
Good for you Cindy.

Fashion and politics are like two sisters who know they need each other but necessarily can go on ahead and live their little lives. Weird, yes? That’s how we felt when we saw mugs of the Democratic Presidential candidates on t-shirts.
One picture is worth a thousand words, and a silkscreen of your fave Democrat on a shirt is worth a few bucks, we say. Hillary Clinton’s smiley face is on Marc Jacob’s tee, worth $38. All the money goes to her campaign obviously. On the other side of the ring is Obama Barrack’s limited tee designed by Obey. This one is given away for free, but now available for $25.
If you want to know who’s selling more: it’s Obama with a whopping $381.39 against Hillary’s $54.82. All prices are from eBay.

In line with the releases of flare pants and shoulder pads for this quarter, sheer fabric is back as good as ever this 2008. There is indeed a reason to be really happy.
Femininity, this time, is the highlight of the modified sheer tops that are taking over the scene. Unlike the first release during the 90′s, it is more discreet yet still attention-grabbing. It’s all over the pretty blouses, telling the whole world “I’m beautiful.”
Sheer will work best in floral details and neutral shades, or depending on the season you’re in. Wear one and exude class and sophistication.

Skinny leg jeans had been a staple in just about everyones closet this past year, creating some sort of frenzy in runways around the globe from top models to ordinary individuals, they just cant stop wearing it everywhere.
With new trends slowly lording over the fashion scene, skinny jeans will be bidding goodbye. Well, not really THAT soon.
And before the hiatus, let me share to you a fool-proof tip to pull it all off: wear heels with skinny jeans for a leg-lengthening look. Also, pointy-toed flats will look good as well. The most slimming look comes from skinny jeans in a dark blue or black wash.

Celebrities are our walking stylists. We see them in magazines, movies, televisions and even everywhere we turned our eyes to. They really have strong influence to us especially when it comes to fashion and styling. We must be thankful for them because they somehow teach us how to mix and match to be as stylish as them.

Celebrities choose to wear what they feel suited for them. The accessories and clothing style they use are the important factors that define them.
There are different styles in fashion. Most of them are exemplified by celebrities like wearing:
Scarf
Shiny dress and shoes
Bright White outfit
High Waist style
Printed dress
Neutrally colored outfit
Denim
Today, these trends are in but tomorrow, they may not. But a little modification of this and that can give different touch in the former styles. Celebrity trends come and go, but usually they come again. They are renewed and reused.

I know there are many of us who would want to look as our celebrity idols. We would like to imitate their styles and the way they define fashion. But do you know our idols invest so much money just to feel good by looking good and trendy?
Most of the celebrities choose to be dressed by well-known fashion designers. Of course, this would cost them a lot. Consider Gwen Stefanis clothing line, L.A.M.B., a complete wardrobe including shoes and bags can cost almost $1,000. Now, imagine how much a celebrity spends a year for wardrobes. So if you would want to be trendy, save money.

Success isn’t always a steady thing with these actresses.

1. Rene Zellweger
The star of big hits like Jerry Maguire, Bridget Jones’ Diary and Chicago, shes not doing so well lately as her new film ‘New In Town’, has only grossed $8 million so far.

2. Nicole Kidman
Were hoping that she’ll jump back into the groove, as her most recent foray into film only grossed $49 million even with Hugh Jackman as the lead male.

3. Kate Hudson
She showed audiences great potential in ‘Almost Famous’ – which we think she should work more on, instead on doing blonde bimbo roles, as her recent flick ‘Bride Wars’ earned only $54 million.

4. Keira Knightley
We think we’d like to see her do something more than wear a corset and talk in that cute English accent of hers. Her most recent film grossed only $13 million.
